Part adventure travel, part investigative journalism, a new television series premiering Sunday on Fusion and Univision takes viewers on a wild ride through Latin America.

Over 12 episodes, correspondents travel to far flung places in the region, from 2,000 miles into the middle of the Pacific Ocean to the mountains of Huautla, Mexico, where psychedelic mushrooms grow.

To tell the stories, Outpost relies on a number of special correspondents, including Jon Batiste, the bandleader on "Late Show with Stephen Colbert”; futurist philosopher Jason Silva; Mike Tyson, former professional boxer; and Carmen Carrera, a transgender model and LGBT rights advocate, among others.

The series was shot in Haiti, Brazil, French Guiana, Colombia, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Bolivia, Cuba, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Honduras, Suriname and Chile.

This Sunday, on the show’s premiere night, FUSION viewers can explore what life is like for young trans people in Brazil, check out the zany architecture in the highest metropolis in the world, travel to the forgotten Guyanas, and be serenaded by songbirds in Suriname.

Univision viewers will see a differnt episode in which they’ll meet an evangelical pastor in one of the world’s most dangerous areas, watch kayakers fight environmental degradation, meet a young Mexican ‘porn baron’ and explore how music can save a remote island.

A Story House Entertainment production, produced by Pharrell Williams’ "i am OTHER" record label, the show will air Sunday nights with episodes in English on Fusion TV @8PM, and in Spanish on UniMas @11 PM.
