"La mitad de gringolandia es terreno mexicano", canta Residente en el 'Hamilton Mixtape'
Uno de los discos más esperados este fin de año es el Hamilton Mixtape. Tras el éxito rotundo de Hamilton en Broadway, el genio latino Lin-Manuel Miranda trabajó con artistas como Alicia Keys, Jimmy Kimmel y Sia para grabar nuevas versiones de los temas y crear otras inspiradas por el musical. Esta semana por fin podemos escuchar el resultado de todo su esfuerzo en cuatro cortes del disco que sale en diciembre. Lo mejor: uno ya se perfila para ser el nuevo himno de orgullo inmigrante.
En 'Immigrants (We Get The Job Done)', Residente, la rapera mexicoamericana Snow Tha Product, el hiphopero somalí-canadiense K'naan y el músico británico-paquistaní Riz MC arrancan con un sample de 'Yorktown (The World Turned Upside Down)', de Hamilton, para luego entregar una canción bilingüe de letras filosas.
El primer verso de K'naan es un knockout que describe la vida de muchos de los quienes han llegado a EEUU a perseguir el Sueño Americano. "I got one job, two jobs, three when I need them/ I got five roommates in this one studio but I never really see them ( Tengo uno trabajo, dos trabajos, tres cuando los necesito/ tengo cinco roommates en un studio pero nunca los veo)".
Luego, Snow Tha Product habla de lo fuerte que trabajan los inmigantes sin crédito alguno. "I’ll outwork you, it hurts you /You claim I’m stealing jobs though/ Peter Piper claimed he picked them he just underpaid Pablo (Voy a trabajar más que tú, te duele/ De todos modos dices que me estoy robando trabajos/ Peter Piper dijo que él los escogió sólo que le pagó menos a Pablo)".
Quizá algunas de las rimas más poderosas de la canción es la que canta Residente en español. "Sin pasaporte americano /porque la mitad de gringolandia es terreno mexicano", rapea el exvocalista de Calle 13. " Nosotros les sembramos el árbol y ellos se comen la fruta/ Somos los que cruzaron/ Aquí vinimos a buscar el oro que nos robaron".
El Hamilton Mixtape se estrenará el 2 de dicembre, según Amazon UK. Por el momento puedes escuchar 'Satisfied', de Sia, Miguel y Queen Latifa; 'My Shot', de Busta Rhymes, Joell Ortiz y Nate Ruess; y 'It's Quiet Uptown', de Kelly Clarkson.
